Motovun

This was our base of operation, with a beautiful view of the city on the hill from our villa patio. This medieval town was well fortified due to the strategic position on the hill.

Pican

Pican is a small village down the road from Gracisce that appeared to be abandoned. I’m sure a few people still live there, but for the most part it felt like a ghost town.

Plitvice Lakes

About a 2.5-3 hour drive from our villa, this was the long trip for us, but well worth it. An incredible array of waterfalls and crystal clear blue water await those that make the trek.

Pula is home to an amazing Roman amphitheater and several other older Roman ruins, making it a great place to spend a day roaming around to look at the sights.

Rovinj

Rovinj was a beautiful town on the sea with spectacular views, great food and plenty to do and see. We spent a great afternoon here, including some incredible gelato; the Italian influence can really be felt here.
